The Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, which was launched in October 2008 by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, is a comprehensive economic vision for Bahrain, providing a clear direction for the continued development of the Kingdom’s economy and, at its heart, is a shared goal of building a better life Bahrain’s citizens. In order to address and play a part in this critical need, OAK aims to deliver and implement a green sustainable and environmentally friendly solution, providing a fully financed Waste-to-Energy facility with its strategically aligned Co-Investment Partner(s).
WTE Bahrain is under formation to bring together OAK and its partners to build-own-operate a fit for purpose, cost effective solution to convert Treated Sewage Sludge (TSS), and Medical Waste (MW) into base-load electricity at Distribution Level (Energy) as a closed initiative Private Public Partnership (PPP) for the Kingdom of Bahrain. By Ministerial Appointment, OAK leads the development and delivery of Bahrain’s first Waste-to-Energy solution ensuring that the Kingdom of Bahrain is at the forefront of Renewables Technology Development and Energy Independence
